A group of people from across Darlington and the wider Tees Valley area got together this afternoon for an afternoon of conversations about making connections in the area.
Brought together by the power of the Leeds-based Culture Vultures enterprise through the passions of Emma Bearman and Mike Chitty, the unconference style event considered questions such as the best tools for communication for arts groups and even the controversial 'should the arts be funded?'.
Ironically in a way, the event was held in one of the area's best-loved arts centres who's very existence is under threat.
I caught up with Darlington For Culture campaigner John Gibson who explained the background to this threat and what people can do about it.
