Metro service update as at 7.20am: Service Update: Disruption due to yesterday's extreme weather: We are running a significantly reduced service with delays between:
South Shields and Benton
Monkseaton and St James
Airport and South Hylton
There is a bus replacement service (900) calling near to all stations between Monkseaton and Four Lane Ends.
On the mainline trains.
East coast says:
Flooding and a landslip are causing disruption near Berwick-upon-Tweed.
Because of this, there are no trains between Newcastle and Berwick-upon-Tweed. There are also no replacement buses. Passengers should use alternative routes between Newcastle and Scotland. The following changes apply until further notice:
A full service will operate south of Newcastle. There will be no trains between Newcastle and Berwick-upon-Tweed.
07:00 Dunbar to Glasgow Central will run normally and 08:20 from Aberdeen to Penzance will terminate at Edinburgh.
